Yesterday I went to the Brimfield Flea Market (by myself). Dozens if not hundreds of gay couples there, lookin’ all domestic and happy and slightly overweight because they have found someone who loves them just the way they are. Bastards. It’s Mother’s Day weekend and I am sad and super lonely…also have a small belly that I cultivated this winter (in preparation for domesticity) that won’t go away. The flea market is huge, I spent most of the day there, although my only purchase was a $1 lazy eyed panda? figurine…oh and $5 for a latte, $6 for kettle corn, $6 for hot fried cinnamon sugar donut holes, and $7 for a smoked sausage dog.
I hope my Anderson Cooper finds me soon…would settle for Bill Nye or John Oliver though. The pics I took are kind of my personality: uniquely different, a bit weird, definitely not some boring and vanilla bullshit. There are also a couple of pics of this super cute dad I was following around, and some disturbingly racist pics that I felt needed to be seen because Black Lives Matter. Dear Mr. Right, hurry the fuck up and find me!

My agency’s campaign this year is #NOSHAME which is about fighting stigma, raising awareness and celebrating our differences. I had the pleasure of meeting Alex, who is a brave ambassador for this year’s No Shame campaign as a member of the transgender community. In talking to him, I explained that throughout my life I never really had any family support, and that all of the great friends I have made have been my family. I encouraged him to find his true family in his friends and those who support him for the beautiful soul that he is! also thank you to all of the great friends that I have had over the years, who were my family and loved me at different points in my life !

SUNCHYME I wanted to post a feelgood song to celebrate our Marriage Equality, and Sunchyme always makes me happy. For us older folks, you will recognize the hook from the 80’s (Dream Academy’s Life in a Northern Town).

I finalized the adoption of my favorite teen this week! I continue to be amazed at the strength and resilience that the children on my caseload have. This teenager has a 4.2 weighted GPA and is going to attend Yale. She has never missed a day of school in her life, despite suffering a childhood of emotional abuse by her mentally ill biological mother. Well she’s adopted now! And they lived happily ever after…
I urge my gay community to look to the foster care system for adoption. Thousands of children are removed from their biological parents following abuse and neglect in the U.S. on a daily basis. I have about 30 kids on my caseload waiting on someone like you to love them. You could be their forever homes and families.

John Oliver is making moves and shaking things up, tackling hot topic political issues and calling people out on their shit. He’s cute and nerdy and smart, but he does still have not cute British teeth for some reason. John Jernigan-Oliver
John Oliver is also a big gay rights activist, here is his introduction to both the fantastic Pepe Julian Onziema and the fucktard Scott Lively

Michael is now the first openly gay football player to be drafted by the NFL, as a supplemental pic in the 7th and final round of the NFL draft this past weekend. He played his college ball at Missouri, and the St. Louis Rams drafted him, so at least he has the comfort of staying in his home state. The reason I say that the American public isn’t ready for this much gayness is simple: I like to think of myself as open-minded, liberal, accepting, and I am a known homosexual. When Michael received the news that he had been drafted and kissed and hugged his little boyfriend, I cringed a little and had a small ick factor moment, and I’m a Gay! Thank you for being a trailblazer and brave and unabashedly kissing that sketchy little white boy Michael, I just hope you will have the strength to persevere when all the bullshit starts to fly.

Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Matt Bevin is running against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
WASHINGTON — A Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Kentucky said that same-sex marriage could lead to a parent claiming marriage to his or her child to gain tax benefits and other privileges.
Louisville businessman Matt Bevin is challenging five-term Sen. Mitch McConnell in the May 20 GOP primary. Bevin said Wednesday that marriage should retain its traditional definition as being between a man and a woman.
Bevin told a Christian radio program hosted by Janet Mefferd: “If it’s all right to have same-sex marriages, why not define a marriage – because at the end of the day, a lot of this ends up being taxes and who can visit who in the hospital, and there’s other repercussions and things that come with this -so a person may want to define themselves as being married to one of their children so that they could then in fact pass on certain things to that child financially and otherwise.”
“Where do you draw the line?” he said. “And if, in fact, a person can arbitrarily draw it here, why not could someone else draw it arbitrarily draw it somewhere else?”

DEAR ABBY: My husband and I relocated to Florida a little over a year ago and were quickly welcomed into our new neighbors’ social whirl. Two couples in the neighborhood are gay — one male, one female. While they are nice enough, my husband and I did not include them when it was our turn to host because we do not approve of their lifestyle choices. Since then, we have been excluded from neighborhood gatherings, and someone even suggested that we are bigots!
Abby, we moved here from a conservative community where people were pretty much the same. If people were “different,” they apparently kept it to themselves. I don’t feel we should have to compromise our values just to win the approval of our neighbors. But really, who is the true bigot here? Would you like to weigh in? — Unhappy in Tampa
DEAR UNHAPPY: I sure would. The first thing I’d like to say is that regardless of what you were told in your previous community, a person’s sexual orientation isn’t a “lifestyle choice.” Gay people can’t change being gay any more than you can change being heterosexual.
From where I sit, you may have chosen the wrong place to live because it appears you would be happier in a less integrated neighborhood surrounded by people who think the way you do. But if you interact only with people like yourselves, you will have missed a chance for growth, which is what you have been offered here. Please don’t blow it.

An animal activist carries a stray dog to his car, brought out of Sochi by fellow activist, at a rendezvous point 120 kilometers away from the Olympic area, in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, in Tuapse, Russia. The volunteers are part of an emerging movement of animal activists in Sochi, alarmed by reports that the city has contracted the killing of thousands of stray dogs before and during the Olympic Games. Stray dogs are a common sight on the streets of Russian cities, but with massive construction in the area the street dog population in Sochi and the Olympic park has soared. Useful as noisy, guard dogs, workers feed them to keep them nearby and protect buildings. They soon lose their value and become strays. Tonight, a few dogs will be taken on their way to a new life in Moscow.
